Retail Therapy at eloise

I just got home from the beach and am feeling a bit overwhelmed with the fact that I am going to have 3 different children at 3 different schools, starting at 3 different times.  
 Running around, buying school supplies, playground workdays, meeting with teachers, and tutors...I am dying....I am exhausted and to say the least, a bit overwhelmed.
 but then...

 in a moment of peace and quiet on Saturday afternoon, I walked into

okay, i love plaid...and there are the MOST amazing plaid wraps-plaid flannel wraps...kind of like your high school boyfriends old shirt--but in wrap/blanket form.  
(for those going to charley and andrea's wedding, the wraps are PERFECT for the Kilts and Cowboy Boots theme)

 if you are looking for the very coolest black leather jacket....go talk to Jason.
I cannot afford this jacket, but I will tell you that it is one of the coolest jackets I have ever seen.

iDye at the Art Box

One of my favorite places to buy gifts for my friends, and my children's friends is the Art Box in Ivy Square.
 Better than a toy and longer lasting than clothing.  

I must tell you all of an awesome find from the Art Box. 

You can dye anything-carpet, clothing, bed linens, towels...
you name it....you can dye it. 
AND the colors are AMAZING

This is a fun rainy day project.  I dyed a shirt and a cotton wrap and the colors are actually better than the look on the package.

Anthropologie Opens at Barracks Road

I just arrived back to Charlottesville after spending most of the summer at the beach.  
 The kids wanted to get a movie and I realized that Hollywood Video has been replaced with 
Anthropologie. 
 Grand Opening August 21.

I am sure that many of my readers are thrilled with the opening of this Chain Store...and I must admit that I enjoyed walking in and taking a sneak peek at the new store.

BUT

Please remember.....our local boutiques. 
For example, I saw the new AG Cords (my favorite) at Anthropologie--but... maybe you should think about buying those cords from Eloise, a local boutique, owned by local people.

Be sure to stop at Scarpa after buying a cute dress from Anthropologie. They have AMAZING shoes. 
 I saw some very cool cowboy boots through the window this evening.

Gift for Tweens at Rock Paper Scissors

I have been spending a lot of time at the beach with my nieces and nephews.  

My super hip and sweet niece, Eve, from NYC, was wearing the cutest rainbow colored bracelets around her wrist.  I asked her about them and to my delight, she took them off and showed me that what I thought were bracelets, were actually rubber bands, that when removed, found their shape back into various animals.
