I went to lunch this afternoon to celebrate a friend’s birthday.  
 A celebration of life……  
 A wonderful celebration, despite the one year anniversary of a dear friend’s death.

 A gift given….Houses are Fields
A book of poetry written by a local poet,  Taije Silverman

 The book bears witness to the great suffering of Silverman’s mother… but upon further study, is a wonderful celebration of life.

 I believe that this book of poetry is a great gift for a holiday that is rooted in the celebration of life even in its darkest of moments.  

If you are looking for a meaningful gift…this is one of my favorites-- Taije’s book represents the balance of the light and the darkness perfectly.
